Hello, my name is Dash.
I specialize in crafting authentic design solutions with purpose through the creative use of digital technology.
I take a glass-full approach to life and problem solve optimistically. Always have. Experience has taught me that strong leadership comes from a place of personal positivity and genuine confidence in your team. I’m motivated by the thrill of chasing down the absolute best solution to complex challenges. I’m able to delve into innovative new technologies that will empower our clients to crush their goals and look good doing it. I truly enjoy helping others find success, and strive to make sure the hard work of my colleagues is recognized.
My career began in the silicon valley of health food (Boulder, CO) as the creative director + one-man marketing department for Rush Bowls. Offering up delicious smoothie bowls covered in granola at multiple retail locations, I worked alongside the owner and VP to bring the concept into the freezer section of Whole Foods and similar natural grocery stores nation-wide. The experience was as invaluable as it was a comprehensive journey. I fondly remember hand-labeling blank ice-cream pint containers and whirring blenders well into the wee hours of the night in the early days, to proudly receiving our latest packaging designs 15,000 to the pallet, in full-color lithographic CMYK glory.
Following my time at Rush I moved to Denver and took residency at Big Sky Communications—agency with deep roots in Silicon Valley, working with Fortune-list caliber clientele. Specializing in customer advocacy marketing, Big Sky helps technology industry companies uncover and communicate high-impact customer success stories that resonate with potential buyers, executives, and the general public. As a lead designer and creative solution expert for Big Sky, I had the pleasure of working with tech industry darlings such as Adobe, VMware, Google, NetApp, Cisco, and SAP. Over the years, I wore many hats and taught myself new skills along the way. I became a brand guideline expert for our clients as I redesigned case study templates, crafted infographics + social media eye-candy, and worked visual magic on C-Level boardroom powerpoint presentations—to name a few examples. Beyond “traditional” graphic design work, I always found myself expanding my skill tree into new terrority to help our clients meet their ever-evolving business goals. Memorable examples include teaching myself how to code+design HTML emails templates for Adobe’s internal communications, managing the development/production services for VMware customer success stories during VMworld, and piloting numerous projects to explore the latest and greatest interactive storytelling technology on the market.
